Helium.com is proud to announce that we have closed negotiations with Google and are now entering the Google family. This will bring many new benefits to users including premium placement in search results and a 10x increase in earnings – including views, upfront, and empty title bonuses.
As part of this acquisition Helium will stop supporting any browsers except Google Chrome in the next 30 days. If you are not using Chrome, please update now as Helium will not work in any other browser at the end of that time. Also, Zones is being merged with Orkut, Google’s own social networking service. Finally, Helium content will only be found through Google searches – we will no longer support any search traffic from Yahoo, AOL, or other search engines
We here at Helium are very excited about this event. Oh, and April Fool’s!
Please note today’s date. If you liked this, find many more here.

Yes indeedy,
It was on the news late but I was just amazed. Of course, I shouldn’t have been. Google gobbles up anything that will make money and of course, Helium fits that bill.
Anything to the rumor that our adsense pennies are turning into adsense dollars?

I love it, Eric. You’ve outdone yourself.

Oh! That accounts for the gargantuan increase of revenue on the first day of April. 🙂
Google did it!

Negotiations have been announced for Microsoft to acquire Google and Yahoo, then merge the two.
Do you think this will impact Helium’s relationship with Google? Any truth to the rumor that Microsoft will issue stock options to all Helium members based upon their blue star counts?
Thanks for any light you can shed, Eric!

Hilarious. But somewhat redundant, too, as the Web 2.0 April Fool’s jokes seem to be very en vogue this year. The Guardian wrote about moving to Twitter, for instance.
Still, quite funny 😀
Goolium…reminds me of “Lord of the Rings”.

Thanks everyone.
Apologies that it was not more intricate and well thought out. We dropped the ball a bit this year.
Next year though…

“Next year though…”
We Chicago Cub fans say that a lot…

Lol, I was about to start freaking out calling everyone at Helium sell outs before I figured out it was a April Fools joke.

When my artificial Intelligence website on Helium zones heard this announcement it rejected the proposal and is going out on its own as weatherballoon.bot ; I tried to stop it…
